Sinful French Toast Recipe

This is an extremely relaxed recipe when it comes to measurements of the ingredients…You really can’t mess this up so feel free to experiment with a little bit of this, and a little more of that!!!

1 loaf of bread (I use either a loaf from the local bakery or a homemade loaf)
1 can of sweeten condensed milk
2 eggs
1 or so tablespoons of cinnamon
1or so tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice (Trader Joe’s is the best)
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1/2 cup brown sugar

Heat skillet or griddle (which ever you prefer), slab surface with a pat or two of butter (real butter peeps). Slice loaf of bread if it hasn’t’ been done already. Whisk together can of condensed milk with eggs until thoroughly mixed. Add in cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla (feel free to add as little or as much to meet your liking…with mine, more is always better ). Continue to whisk until spices are evenly distributed. One by one, dip sliced bread into mixture coating both sides. Sprinkle the side of bread that will be going into the skill first with brown sugar (sprinkle the opposite side as first side is cooking). Cook until brown and sugar has caramelized.

Finish off with a sprinkle of powder sugar.

Lifetime movie Obsession

Lifetime Christmas movies. I am obsessed. Like I can.not.get.enough. I will easily watch 2-3 of them in a sitting and maybe even ones I’ve already seen. Yep, I’ve got issues. It’s not like it’s semi horrible acting that you could possibly see in movie form and it’s not like the plots are so predictable I probably could have written them, no way, it’s Golden Globe status material people. One might never know why I’m hooked but the minute I turn on the Lifetime channel, it’s over, goodbye 4 productive hours I could have used doing something else like say baking a delicious dessert to post on my “baking blog” rather than rant about my love of Lifetime Christmas movies. Do I march to the beat of my own drum, I think so.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone?

(Disclaimer – while I might have “bashed” the writing/acting in these movies it’s a love/hate feeling because I LOVE when I predict the ending of a movie and it actually happens. I get all giddy and warm inside and I’m left feeling great as opposed to feeling defeated like I’ve been when not predicting the ending of a movie).
